The London Business School Media Club seeks to bring media companies, current students and alumni
together to share ideas and opportunities.

Student participation in the club is open to all current students of the London Business School
including students in the MBA, Masters in Finance, Executive MBA, and PhD programmes as well as
students that are joining the school on exchange.
The levels of participation in the club range from joining the club, being an active
member in the club, and becoming a member of the executive committee. All students with a Portal
log-in are encouraged to join the club discussion. This can be done by
clicking here.
New student presentations are held at the beginning of the school year to explain more about the club
and its activities to students who are interested. New students should keep an eye out for postings on Portal about these presentations.
Of course, please feel free to contact
members of the executive committee if you have any questions about joining.

There are numerous opportunities for media companies to become involved with the Media Club.
Sponsorship
The Media Club offers interested firms the opportunity to sponsor various events. Sponsorships are
usually tailor-made but traditional opportunities include:
- corporate partnerships with London Business School
- title sponsoring of major events like the London Media Summit
- smaller sponsorship of one-off events.
Sponsors typically come from but are not limited to the
following industries:
- media
- consulting
- banking
- law

Recruitment
Members of the Media Club at London Business School work or worked in a range of companies within
the industry. Examples include:
- Bertelsmann (BMG, Random House)
- Disney
- Liberty Media
- McKinsey & Company (media practice)
- Sony
- TimeWarner (Warner Bros., Turner)
- Viacom (MTV)
- Vivendi Universal
- WPP
This successful track record is the result of a thorough approach to media recruiting. Unlike
consultancies or investment banks, few media companies recruit business school students in a
systematic fashion. The
Media Club brings recruiters and students together to educate them about each other. Demand for
this role of the club is growing. While more and more media companies look for business-savvy
managers, more and more MBAs look for the unique excitement the industry can offer.
If you are a recruiter there are a range of opportunities available to get in touch with
our students through events, sponsorships, and the school's Career Services.
If you are a student the network of our Media Alumni also offers a great resource.
